Cold and Flu Season

Cold and Flu season is upon us! Ever wonder what the difference between a cold and having the flu is? Colds usually last between 3-7 days. Symptoms: sneezing, stuffy nose, and sore throat. Complications are milder and are mainly upper respiratory, sinus, ear aches or bronchitis. The flu on the other hand lasts between 5-14 days. Symptoms are typically stronger: body aches, chest pain, fever, complications can be more severe such as pneumonia. Here are some tips to help beat cold/flu season quickly: 1. Washing hands frequently lasting at least 20 seconds. Gargling salt water also helps wash viruses from the throat and stomach. 2. Teas: Ginger – (if you feel cold) slice ginger root into thin slices, place 2 slices into boiling water and sip. Natural Substances Show Promise in Fighting Cancer

New research, much of it released in the last six months, reveals compelling results for natural substances helping in the battle against cancer. While traditional cancer drugs do save lives, many of these medications have serious side effects, which can become so intolerable patients are unable to continue using them. As well, these medications can also destroy healthy cells at the same time they kill cancer cells. Cheese   It may surprise you to hear that cheese has anti-cancer properties. Although this news was first released in Europe a number of years ago, only recently has the information gained attention in the North American media.   Research from the Netherlands reveals that hard cheeses like Gouda, Emmental and Edam may slash the risk of some cancers. Researchers attribute vitamin K2 found in these types of cheese with an anti-cancer mechanism. While it kills cancer cells, K2 performs another vital function: it stops cancer from creating blood vessels. Without bloo

Eat your Fruits and Veggies

You hear it all the time. Eat your fruits and vegetables. At least 5 to 7 servings daily. Do you know why? When your body digests food it needs enzymes to help break down the food. Fruits, and vegetables already have enzymes in them naturally, so your body does not have to make an enzyme to digest fruits and vegetables. Heating or chemical changes in food can destroy or change enzymes, which is why it is typically best to eat fruit and vegetables raw.   Doctors recommend eating 5 to 7 servings fruit and vegetables to prevent and help fight cancer, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, obesity and the list goes on. The easier the food is to digest , the sooner your body can begin to use the vitamins and nutrients to feed your body more quickly. When you eat over processed food, your body has to work hard to break it down and there is not as much nutrional value. Eating 5 to 7 servings of fruits and vegetables is an easy way to a healthier you.   Doyle Chiropractic Clinic serv
